London-based trio The Early Mornings have released their latest single, ‘Ultra-Modern Rain’, ahead of their new EP of the same name.
Opening with a zippy guitar line, the track bursts into a fast-paced onslaught of humourous lyricism and fragmented melodies, bound together by clever vocal delivery and slight distortion.
It follows in the post-punk footsteps of previous releases, poking fun at life and politics through lines about “oceans of boredom” and washing away “the wasted years”, all backed by tight musical arrangements.
Formed in Manchester in 2019, The Early Mornings released their debut EP last year, and have since gone on to play shows with bands such as Porridge Radio, as well as their own headline gigs across the UK.
The Ultra-Modern Rain EP is set to be released next January via Practise Music.
