Sam Fender has unveiled his new single, ‘Seventeen Going Under’ – the title track of his second record, which is set to be released in October.
With characteristically soaring guitar riffs and twinkling keyboard notes, ‘Seventeen Going Under’ is unmistakably Sam Fender. This time, instead of looking outwards on society’s failures and the people surrounding him, Fender begins to paint a picture of his own experiences, lyrically exploring things from a more inward, personal perspective.
Recorded in North Shields and produced with Bramwell Bronte, Fender describes his second album as a “coming of age story“, saying “it’s about growing up. It’s a celebration of life after hardship, and it’s a celebration of surviving.“
Out on October 8th, ‘Seventeen Going Under’ will arrive two years after the release of ‘Hypersonic Missiles’ in 2019.
