Receiving praise from the likes of Billie Eilish and Willow Smith, the debut single of Icelandic musician/singer-songwriter Laufey also accrued over a million Spotify streams, as well as charting at #1 on the Iceland Radio. Laufey’s swift success is the product of only a smattering of tracks, albeit tracks which each display incredibly soothing, genre-splicing innovations; having recently foreshadowed her debut EP with jazz-inflected single ‘Best Friend’.
Laufey recently shared the black and white music video for the track, featuring Laufey with her best friend and twin sister as they explore New York City. Directed by Blythe Thomas, the video perfectly encapsulates the iridescent melancholy which the track’s warm, mellifluous piano and lilting vocals carry.
