London-based, Leeds-made band, Ten Hands High, have released their newest single, ‘Sweet’.
Calming instrumentals and subtle vocals, ‘Sweet’ is filled with glimpses of psychedelic tranquillity, as swirling alt-pop melodies gather cool guitars and hazy harmonies to create an escapist, rock and R&B infused track.
The lyrics surround finding happiness after leaving a relationship: “Can you tell me why I feel nothing?”, exploring finding comfort in no longer having your life revolve around a toxic relationship.
The band began ‘Phase 1’ of their musical journey back in 2019, with the demo single, ‘A Jet’s Pink Trail’; going on to release five more demos and playing multiple sold out shows in London and Leeds. ‘Phase 2’, in 2020, saw Ten Hands High release three more singles, gaining radio play on BBC Introducing, and getting featured on some of Spotify’s top editorial playlists.
Now in ‘Phase 3’, the group are set to release their debut EP at the end of May, after releasing ‘Sweet’ as their first single of 2021.
