Leeds-based band, Magick Mountain, have released their newest single, ‘Cherokee’.
Packed with fuzzy hooks and ricocheting riffs, ‘Cherokee’ rolls psychedelia into punk, as growling vocals take on heavy melodies, shoutalong choruses, and a sweet instrumental breakdown.
Taken from their debut full-length record, the group say ‘Cherokee’ was written “when there was a Strawberry Moon high in the sky, and continuing with the theme of being inspired by ancient rituals, we read into the Native American Cherokee tribe and their deep connection to nature, lunar cycles and crop growing.”
They went on to say the track was “one of the last songs to be written for the album”, with the band seeing it as being “about looking ahead at what’s to come”.
