Soundtracked – May 3rd

Here are some of the recent song releases we’ve been enjoying at LDOI. All songs featured can be found in the Spotify playlist linked at the bottom of the page (updated weekly).

*TRACK OF THE WEEK*: ‘Last Thoughts’ – Richard Griffith : The latest release from 24-year-old UK producer, Richard Griffith, features mellow vocals and soft instrumentals, packing soulful groove into laidback melodies. The track is taken from his debut album, ‘Percepts’, which was released last month. FFO: Jordan Rakei

‘Loops’ – Apartment X : Brooklyn-based group Apartment X’s latest single, ‘Loops’, is the title track of their recently released EP. Soft vocals dance over gentle guitar notes, before leaping into an energetic burst of vivid instrumentation and spirited lyric hooks. FFO: Yellow Days

‘Second Ave ‘ – Mac Benson : Subtle instrumentals laced with melancholic vocals, ‘Second Ave’ is a wistful recollection of happier summer days, from British indie pop artist Mac Benson. FFO: Troye Sivan

‘Do You Really Wanna Know’ – Sea Girls : Punchy choruses packed with anthemic lyricism and vibrant riffs, the latest release from UK indie-rockers, Sea Girls comes ahead of their debut album, due to be released in August. FFO: Circa Waves

‘Weekend’ – Clubhouse : The catchy new single from American five-piece Clubhouse is summery in style, filled with slick, groove-touched instrumentation and addictive vocal hooks, and finessed with a smooth production style. FFO: Tom Misch

‘The Bluest You’ – Kidsmoke : Soaring guitars layered with breezy vocals, vibrant instrumentals burst into euphoric choruses in the newest release from Wrexham group Kidsmoke. ‘The Bluest You’ is the band’s latest track from their debut album, set to be released in June. FFO: M83

‘Accidental Holiday’ – Laser Background : Vintage harmonies waltz around swirling instrumentation, bringing touches of groove and soul to psychedelic rock. The track comes from Laser Background’s new record, ‘Evergreen Legend’, out at the start of this month. FFO: Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard

‘Come Over’ – Sam Florian : Funked-filled instrumentation dashed with hazy vocals, the latest single from Sweden-based artist Sam Florian blends smooth hints of disco with brightly coloured bedroom pop. FFO: Mac DeMarco

‘Solid Gold’ – Fake Fever : The dreamy new track from South Carolina artist Fake Fever is brimming with cloudy vocals and soft synths, a vivid take on the vaporwave scene. ‘Solid Gold’ is taken from Fake Fever’s debut album ‘Surrogate’, which was released last month. FFO: Toro Y Moi

‘Talking to Nobody’ – Michael Clark : Hazy rock with lo-fi vocals, the newest release from Michael Clark is filled with lulling guitars and warm melodies, blending nostalgic lyricism with subtle instrumentation. FFO: Sam Fender
